Two heads are better than one for driving down Memphis crime, but perception issues linger

Working together appears to be working to help drive down Memphis crime.
Crime overall in the city is down 20% compared to the same period last year, according to the Memphis Police Department, and its top brass attributes much of that decline to intra-department and interagency collaboration.
MPD Deputy Chief Webb Kirkdoffer said in a recent interview the department’s Code Zero efforts, one-night saturation operations in a single area that combine the forces of multiple MPD units, as well as partnerships with other local law enforcement and federal agencies have all helped keep crime down.
