New approval gives old properties a ‘second chance to create value for Shelby County’

Two suburbs are hoping TIF (Tax Increment Financing) districts approved by the Shelby County Board of Commissioners will help entice developers to vacant, aging properties and fund critical infrastructure needs.
The Shelby County Commission on Monday, Dec. 15, approved new TIF districts for Bartlett and Lakeland, voting unanimously for Lakeland’s and 12-1 in favor of Bartlett’s.
