‘Dark and dangerous’ Houston Levee getting glow-up

The twinkling lights on Collierville Town Square are not the only thing glowing this season. South Houston Levee Road will soon be illuminated.

Streetlight installation is underway along Houston Levee Road between Winchester Road and Tenn. 385. For decades, that stretch of Houston Levee Road has been dim at night. Southbound drivers pass Sonic and their headlights are the only thing shining until met by Orgill on the east side of the road.

Nearly three years ago, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted to install street lights. Now they are finally going up.
