Wanda Chism, one of the original board members for Collierville Schools, has decided this term will be her last.
Chism, 81, announced Thursday, Jan. 15, she will not seek reelection for Position 2 on the Collierville Board of Education in 2026, citing her age as a significant reason for stepping down.
“Had I run for reelection again, I’d be 86 years old,” at the end of another four-year term, she said. “That’s too old for me. I want to use the last few years I have with my children and grandchildren and now even a great-grandchild.”
