On a recent afternoon, dozens of meals were boxed, labeled, stacked and quietly dropped into one of Memphis’ community refrigerators where anyone can take what they need no questions asked. There was no fanfare, just food — hot when it was packed, still good when eaten cold — waiting for whoever needed it next.
For Kai Stowell, that’s the point.
