New trial appeal in Nichols case still pending, cross-appeals denied

Whether the former Memphis police officers accused of killing Tyre Nichols will be retried remains unclear. But a separate request from their attorneys has been dismissed by the U.S. Sixth Circuit.

Once an intern, he never left, joining the staff full-time in 2022 as an education reporter.
