Lakeland board recommends pay hike for elected officials

The salaries for Lakeland’s elected officials haven’t been changed in more than 20 years, but a citizens advisory board thinks the compensation needs adjusting.

On Tuesday, April 14, the Lakeland Community Advisory Board unanimously recommended salary increases for the mayor, commissioners and Lakeland School System board members. 

The adjustments would be the first since 2003.
