Heather Fisher begins school board service early

Heather Fisher is pretty much guaranteed a seat on the Germantown Board of Education in the Nov. 3 elections, but her appointment to a vacated spot has given her a head start her term.
Fisher, a Republican running unopposed for Position 2, was appointed to the suburban school system’s board last month after Scotty Hendricks Jr. relocated out of state. The appointment allows her to continue serving the Germantown Municipal School District and the suburb where she’s spent 25 years in local public education.
A career in education was not a consideration during her teenage years. Her three options then were a lawyer, a journalist or a fashion designer. Her calling emerged during her junior year in high school when she taught economics to fourth grade students.
