Empanada trailer brings Argentinian flavor to Midtown
Growing up in Argentina, Jennifer Joya often ate the country’s traditional beef empanadas. Now, she finds herself making thousands of her own empanadas each week.
Joya launched Argento Foods, an Argentinian food business, in 2024 with her wife Nicole, focusing on handmade empanadas in a range of South American flavors and combinations.
Prior to launching at the Memphis Farmers Market, Argento mostly did small catering orders, but the business recently secured its first food trailer and will soon be parked between Playhouse on the Square and the gas station on the corner of Union Avenue and Cooper Street.
