Southaven aldermen voted 6-1 in favor of a millage increase Tuesday, Sept. 12, as part of the city’s proposed $68.83 million general-fund budget for fiscal year 2024, which begins Oct. 1.
Some residents opposed a millage increase in Southaven for the upcoming fiscal year, but Mayor Darren Musselwhite countered that the funds are necessary for street paving and fighting crime from Memphis.
