The host of ‘Nurses Unboxed’ on the critical role of nurses
Dr. Lisa Beasley of the UTHSC College of Nursing spoke on this week’s Sidebar podcast. (Ian Round/The Daily Memphian file)
When Dr. Lisa Beasley booked for an interview about nursing and health, I had no idea she’d tell me stories about Rock 103. But she did.
Beasley, associate professor at the UTHSC College of Nursing, joined me on this week’s episode of “The Sidebar” to talk about the job has changed, the proactive work nurses do in underserved neighborhoods, and more.
But we also talked about how Beasley’s early career in local radio — including WREC, Rock 103 and others — led her to host a range of podcasts, including “Healthful Highnotes” on WYXR, “Nurses Unboxed” and other podcasts.
She even told stories about working with a young Bill Dries when he was still doing local news radio.
