Social media and a salmon club: How Smackers made a name for itself

“Perception is reality. People only believe what they see,” said Jerry “Lue” Luellen, co-founder of Smackers Restaurant & Eatery.

The Smackers marketing manager said getting people in the door means winning the battle for their time and attention. Getting people to come back is a job for the food. 

In 2012, Luellen and Chef Kevin Jamerson co-founded the business that would later become Smackers. The fast-casual restaurant, which currently has four area locations, serves sandwiches, burgers, wings, pastas, snacks and desserts.
