A Bartlett pharmacy is closing Friday after nearly 50 years in business, and its building at 5675 Stage Road — purchased by the owners of the Side Porch Steak House restaurant — will be renovated for a new use.
Regel Pharmacy fills its last prescriptions in the Bartlett Station district on Friday with all customer profiles transferred to the Regel Pharmalab compounding pharmacy at 1352 Cordova Cove in Germantown.
The closing of the pharmacy and the purchase by the owners of the nearby restaurant are examples of some of the new businesses opening in Bartlett Station, which stretches from the railroad crossing at Stage Road and Bartlett Road.

Dr. Bill Regel started the pharmacy back in 1975, operating on the ground floor of what is now the Bartlett City Schools district headquarters at 5705 Stage Road, a half block from the current building he bought in 1984.
