Is third time the charm for the 33 acres of ‘opportunity’ in Germantown?

The latest plans for the Arthur property mark at least the third time an idea has emerged for the 33 acres along Poplar Avenue west of Saddle Creek.
The previous two ideas never panned out, leaving the spot stretching south from Poplar Avenue to the Norfolk-Southern railroad tracks in its undeveloped state.
The site is known as the Arthur property since the land is owned by relatives of Boyd Artur Jr., who served as the suburb’s mayor from 1982 until 1986. With the suburb’s Central Business District ripe with commercial ventures and offices, the land seems destined for development.
