Millington residents in need of transportation will soon have a more affordable alternative to get around the city.
At a special-called meeting Thursday, Oct. 22, the city’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously approved the region’s first citywide transit-on-demand program.
The 12-month pilot program will feature rides for $2 in Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible vehicles. The transportation plan is expected to launch by Thanksgiving, operating a weekday-only service from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
