Shelby County coronavirus cases rise by nearly 200
Shelby County has 191 more reported coronavirus cases and one more death resulting from the disease, according to the Shelby County Health Department.
That brings the total to 8,394 cases and 167 deaths.
Those 191 new cases come from 1,342 tests, a positivity rate of 14.2%. A total of 113,279 tests have been administered in Shelby County.
Nearly 5,800 people are considered recovered from the disease in Shelby County.
The state reports new figures at 2 p.m. daily.
As of Tuesday, June 23, the Tennessee Department of Health reported 36,303 coronavirus cases statewide, including 24,068 that have recovered.
There have been 542 deaths and 2,336 people have ever been hospitalized for the disease, according to the same data.
More than 700,000 tests (705,164) have been administered in Tennessee.
