Coronavirus: Third day of fewer than 200 new cases

For the third day in a row, the Shelby County Health Department reported fewer than 200 new coronavirus cases.
The agency reported 190 new coronavirus cases and eight new coronavirus-related deaths on Thursday.
Those 190 cases come from 4,253 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 4.5%.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 85,594 cases, including 81,277 inactive cases (recoveries), 2,911 active cases and 1,406 deaths.
According to the latest Shelby County Health Department data, 65,107 people in Shelby County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose; 23,850 people have received both COVID-19 vaccine doses, meaning they are fully vaccinated.
And 88,957 total doses have been administered in Shelby County.
The Shelby County Health Department canceled vaccinations scheduled for Thursday due to inclement weather. It is rescheduling them for the same time Thursday, Feb. 18.
There were 257 COVID-positive patients in area hospital beds as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 according to the Tennessee Healthcare Resource Tracking System. According to the HRTS, 91% of area intensive care unit and 89% of area acute care beds were in use.
And 37 area ICU and 258 area acute care beds were available.
Bed capacity is calculated by subtracting beds occupied by patients, unstaffed beds and beds that are otherwise unavailable.
The capacity figures are inclusive of all hospital facilities in Shelby, Tipton and Lauderdale counties in Tennessee as well as facilities in Crittenden County, Arkansas, and DeSoto County, Mississippi.
The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.
As of Tuesday, Tennessee’s reported coronavirus total is 750,409 cases, including 10,731 deaths, 1,262 current hospitalizations and 714,067 inactive cases (recoveries).
About 6.5 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
