More than 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been in administered in Shelby County.

According to the latest Shelby County Health Department data, 137,767 people in Shelby County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose; 63,098 people have received two COVID-19 vaccine doses.

 The Shelby County Health Department reported 104 new coronavirus cases and no new coronavirus-related deaths on Friday.

Those 104 cases come from 3,458 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 3%.

Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 89,271 cases, including 86,695 inactive cases (recoveries), 1,043 active cases and 1,533 deaths.

There were 146 COVID-positive patients in area hospital beds as of 5 p.m. Thursday, according to the Tennessee Healthcare Resource Tracking System.

According to the HRTS, 92% of area ICU and 88% of area acute care beds were in use.

About 14% of patients in area ICU beds were COVID-positive (48) or suspected of having the coronavirus (1). About 5% of patients in area acute care beds were eitther COVID-positive (98) or suspected of having the coronavirus (24).

And 30 area ICU and 277 area acute care beds were available.

Bed capacity is calculated by subtracting beds occupied by patients, unstaffed beds and beds that are otherwise unavailable.

The capacity figures are inclusive of all hospital facilities in Shelby, Tipton and Lauderdale counties in Tennessee as well as facilities in Crittenden County, Arkansas, and DeSoto County, Mississippi.

The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.

As of Thursday, March 11, Tennessee’s reported coronavirus total is 788,109 cases, including 11, 623 deaths, 683 current hospitalizations and 763,970 inactive cases (recoveries).

About 6,944,400 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
