Coronavirus: Shelby County averaging 40 new cases per day

According to the Shelby County Health Department, the county has averaged 40 new coronavirus cases a day for the past week.
The county is also averaging 1,144 daily COVID-19 vaccinations over that same time period.

The Health Department reported 26 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, June 23, and no new coronavirus-related deaths. The number of new cases reported in the past week range from 14 to 78. The number of new deaths reported range from zero to 6.
Wednesday’s 26 new cases come from 804 tests, giving the day a positivity rate of 3.23%.
From June 16 to June 22, a total of 258 new coronavirus cases were identified locally. Those cases were the result of 8,022 COVID tests, meaning the week’s overall positivity rate was 3.2%.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 99,669 cases, 97,668 inactive cases, 1,688 deaths, 313 active cases.
According to the Health Department, 382,103 people in Shelby County have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
