Daily Jigsaw: Christmas in November
Greater Community Temple Church of God in Christ held its annual Christmas in November giveaway Saturday, Nov. 1, on its Winchester Road campus, drawing tens of thousands of people who came for food, clothing, and even counseling and job interviews.
“We all have mixed emotions,” Porter said about the Memphis Safe Task Force presence. “I want our people to be handled respectfully and not to be polarized and no racial profiling. I am concerned that many of our Spanish-speaking community have gone into hiding, and they are hungry, too. They need food. They need clothing. They need various things.”
