The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is clearing four buildings on its 1695 Central Ave. campus to make the property more accessible, add green space and save money on upkeep.

The decision is due to the condition of the Midtown buildings and the desire to reduce the financial burden of maintaining them, according to a statement from the church.
