A Florida-based developer wanting to build a 92-unit multifamily apartment complex in the University District is one step closer to doing so.

The university faced a $55 million shortfall last year; it now expects to be $75 million to $80 million to the good.

The two complaints were over a 2020 contract for a $1 million marketing campaign to urge Shelby Countians to wear masks.

There are 8,742 active cases reported in Shelby County.
