Coronavirus: 0 deaths reported in last 24 hours

According to the latest Shelby County Health Department data, 76,162 people in Shelby County have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose; 30,853 people have received both COVID-19 vaccine doses, meaning they are fully vaccinated.
And 107,015 total doses have been administered in Shelby County.
At the present time, Shelby County is vaccinating phase 1a1, 1a2 and those age 70 and up on an appointment-only basis. Slots are currently filled, but people can check online or to call (901) 222-SHOT (7468) to be notified when appointments are available. You can also sign up for the VaxQueue standby list. Shelby County Health Department will move into Phase 1b of the state’s COVID-19 vaccination plan on Wednesday, Feb. 24. This phase makes vaccination available to residents who are 65 years and older, teachers and childcare staff.
The Shelby County Health Department reported 110 new coronavirus cases and zero new coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Shelby County’s reported coronavirus total is now 87,088 cases, including 84,097 inactive cases (recoveries), 1,531 active cases and 1,460 deaths.
There were 242 COVID-positive patients in area hospital beds as of 5 p.m. Monday, according to the Tennessee Healthcare Resource Tracking System.
According to the HRTS, 90% of area ICU and 86% of area acute care beds were in use.
About 19% of patients in area ICU beds were COVID-positive (64) or suspected of having the coronavirus (3). About 9% of patients in area acute care beds were either COVID-positive (178) or suspected of having the coronavirus (52).
And 36 area ICU and 320 area acute care beds were available.
Bed capacity is calculated by subtracting beds occupied by patients, unstaffed beds and beds that are otherwise unavailable.
The capacity figures are inclusive of all hospital facilities in Shelby, Tipton and Lauderdale counties in Tennessee as well as facilities in Crittenden County, Arkansas and DeSoto County, Mississippi.
The Tennessee Department of Health releases statewide coronavirus figures at 2 p.m. daily.
As of Tuesday, Feb. 23, Tennessee’s reported coronavirus total is 766,089 cases, including 11,153 deaths, 1,008 current hospitalizations and 738,731 inactive cases (recoveries).
About 6,681,400 million coronavirus tests have been performed in Tennessee.
