Memphis mayor, council clash over ‘poor budgeting’

Memphis Mayor Paul Young and a segment of the Memphis City Council are at odds about the council’s proposed plans to amend the city budget.
Those plans could include cutting the Memphis Area Transit Authority’s funding in half, raising revenue projections and extending the city’s ongoing hiring freeze.
