Lakeland School System finally adds 12th grade

As the Lakeland School System continues to grow, so does its annual budget.
With LSS adding 12th grade to Lakeland Preparatory School for the 2025-26 school year, the district’s school board held a work session Monday, May 5, with a look at a $32.8 million budget for the fiscal year starting July 1.
“For the first time this is a budget for a complete K-12 system,” LSS Superintendent Ted Horrell said.
