Organizations raise questions about Hospitality Hub expansion
A crew of over a dozen city workers descend on the old Downtown inspection station on April 30, 2019, to clean up debris left behind when the building was vacated and the remains of several camps left by homeless who were living there. Ironically, the building is the focus of a relocation and expansion of the Hospitality Hub, a nonprofit aimed at helping Memphis homeless, including a new 32-bed women’s homeless shelter. Questions about the Hospitality Hub expansion come less than a week after Memphis and Shelby County announced a proposal to relocate and expand the facility Downtown.
