Community Foundation invests in transforming a college – and a city

Dr. Carol Johnson-Dean is interim president of LeMoyne-Owen College. Prior to that, she served as executive director of New Leaders for New Schools Memphis and superintendent of Memphis City Schools.
Bob Fockler
Bob Fockler is president of the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, the largest charitable grantmaker in the Mid-South. The Community Foundation manages 1,200 charitable funds for individuals, families and organizations, including the Mid-South COVID-19 Regional Response Fund.
The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis' $40 million gift to LeMoyne-Owen College is one of the largest received by any HBCU nationally. It's designed to propel the college to the next level in higher education.
