Conaway: After 25 years, it’s time to put some local teeth in our game

Next year, 2026, we will have had an NBA team for 25 years.
I’ve been trying to get them to change their name from the get-go. When the other Canada Grizzlies came to town in 1974, the football version in the WFL, I was their ad agency. I tried to get them to adopt a name with some local ferociousness to no avail. Same with basketball and the NBA.
