Asked about the Grizzlies’ health going into tonight’s game vs. the Utah Jazz, coach J.B. Bickerstaff didn’t talk around it.

“(Crap), not good,” he said in his pregame meeting with media.

Earlier, the Grizzlies provided updates on several players, and the news on second-year guard/forward Dillon Brooks was not anyone wanted to hear. He suffered a grade 2 MCL sprain Saturday night in the win over Philadelphia and is expected to be out six to eight weeks.

Forward JaMychal Green (broken jaw) is now expected to be within two weeks of a possible return. Forward Omri Casspi, who has missed the three previous games with knee soreness, could be back on the court within a week.

But Chandler Parsons, he of the four-year, $94.4 million free agent contract before the 2016-17 season, remains sidelined with knee soreness and back soreness. The update on Parsons indicated only that another update will be provided in two weeks.

In his first two seasons, Parsons played only 70 out of a possible 164 regular season games. He has missed eight of the Grizzlies’ first 11 games this season after going to Germany over the summer to get injections in both knees.
