Kobee Minor came off the edge and delivered a crushing blindside hit that caused MTSU quarterback Nicholas Vattiato to cough up the ball and wake up the Tigers.

The offense got off to a slow start and was scoreless in the first quarter for the first time this season. The Tigers finally scored two second-quarter touchdowns to take a 14-0 lead by halftime. The Memphis defense held MTSU to 29 yards rushing on 25 attempts.

The Tigers will play host to Middle Tennessee on Saturday. It’ll be the first matchup between the two teams since 2014.

Williams is expected to be reevaluated in four weeks, meaning he could miss the start of the regular season for the Grizzlies.
