The Rebels star quarterback just finished his fifth year of college football in a 31-27 loss to Miami in the College Football Playoff semifinals Thursday night.

Local players from Middle College, Fairley, MASE, Melrose and Covington were selected for the Tennessee Sports Writers Association all-state football team.

The Rebels held a 27-24 lead when Miami slipped by to win the Fiesta Bowl — and a shot at a national title.

Stephon Sheffa and Fallon Drzyzga were recognized after outstanding efforts last week.

As Arrington Maiden and AJ Hill leave the program, Memphis has turned to the NCAA transfer portal for its 2026 quarterbacks.
