Ja Morant spoke to the media Friday. It wasn’t some raw apology press conference. But he said all the right things. He said he is learning to “protect his peace.” If the man can do that, good things will surely follow.

Desmond Bane’s averaged 25 points and five assists overall, 30 and six in wins. And despite all that, Bane hasn’t abandoned the defensive end, his block and steal rates both up this season.

“We have to come out and create our own energy,” Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said. “We can’t have other teams come in here (and win), regardless of what our roster is or who is playing. You have to protect home court.”

Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane combined for 69 points, but the Grizzlies lost to the Mavericks on Monday night.
