Buckley: Nicholas Jourdain exudes joy. Familiarity fuels this Tiger’s smile.
Tim Buckley
Tim is a veteran sportswriter who graduated from CBHS in Memphis and the University of Missouri. He previously covered LSU sports in Baton Rouge, and the University of Louisiana football and basketball for The Daily Advertiser/USA TODAY Network in Lafayette, the NBA’s Utah Jazz for the Deseret News in Salt Lake City, the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning for the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, and West Texas State basketball for the Amarillo Globe News in Texas.
Nicholas Jourdain had an extra hop about him. It was evident even in pre-practice introductions.
So when the Memphis Tigers’ Blue and Gray Showcase got going Friday night at Elma Roane Fieldhouse, it was easy to tell Jourdain wanted to be there.
The same can be said for the 6-foot-9 forward’s return to the Tigers men’s basketball team, one that looks nothing like it did a season ago.
