Tigers kicker Seth Morgan heads to portal, Terrance McClain declares for NFL Draft
Kicker Seth Morgan is the fourth Memphis Tiger to announce his decision to enter the portal since the regular season ended.

Morgan, who suffered a season-ending injury after the first three games of the season, revealed his decision through a social media tweet on Friday.
“Thank you (special teams) Coach (Chris) White and The University of Memphis for this past season,” Morgan said in his post. “I will be entering the transfer portal as a Grad Transfer graduating in May with two years of eligibility.”

Morgan transferred to Memphis from Sam Houston State and is already out the door after attempting just five field goals in his short Tigers career. He made three field goals in the first three games, including a 47-yard attempt and a 45-yard try.
Redshirt junior Tanner Gillis took over the field-goal kicking duties after Morgan went down. Gillis made 9-of-11 field goals while also executing 27 kickoffs this year.
Morgan joins starting right guard Davion Carter, backup quarterback Tevin Carter and defensive lineman Zy Brockington as the other Tigers who have already announced their portal decisions.

Memphis offensive tackle Terrance McClain revealed through Instagram on Friday that he’s declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.
McClain is listed as a redshirt junior and joined the Tigers from Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College ahead of last season. He appeared in all 12 games this year while logging three starts. He played in eight games in 2022.
“First and foremost, I extend my gratitude to the most high for presenting me with this incredible opportunity,” McClain said in his post. “I want to express my deepest appreciation to my family, coaches, and all individuals who have profoundly influenced my journey.”
The Tigers (9-3) still have a bowl game to play as they try to become just the fifth team in school history to reach 10 wins in a season. Memphis will find out the bowl it will be playing in on Sunday when bowl announcements are made.
McClain’s caption to his that says, “It’s Official After My Bowl Game!” suggests that he plans to still be available for the postseason game.
