Suburbs driving Shelby County’s growth
The Shelby County suburbs have grown in the past two years, and much more of the same is expected to come, according to a report commissioned by the Shelby County Chamber Alliance.
The alliance represents Arlington, Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland and Millington. The report from Younger Associates looked at various economic growth metrics and found increases in areas such as gross regional product, median home values and sales- and property-tax revenue.
“All of that made me feel good, particularly with all of the projects we have coming on like Union Depot in Bartlett, Providence Place out in Arlington and The Standard in Germantown,” said Harold Byrd, president of the Bank of Bartlett and the Chamber Alliance.
