Clay Bailey, a lifelong Memphian, has worked as a reporter in the city four decades. He concentrated on suburban coverage for the bulk of his career, except for a stint as sports editor of The Daily Memphian when it launched in September 2018. He now is suburban editor and also serves as a freelance sports writer for The Associated Press.
This week, reporter Rob Moore highlighted three candidates who have qualified to run for mayor of Horn Lake on April 1. That is the date for the party primaries in the DeSoto County city.
Two for the right to represent the Republican side of the ballot; a single candidate seeking the Democratic nod.
And you thought your reprieve from elections would last more than about three months since early November.
But really, there has been plenty of talk about potential candidates for suburban offices since the general election and still plenty to determine in the void until the Horn Lake primaries.
