Arlington board keeps property tax rate steady

A balanced budget while maintaining the property tax rate, a lottery for a liquor store and a moratorium extension made for an eventful Arlington Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting on Monday night, May 4.

The board approved first readings of the town’s 2026-27 fiscal budget along with a property tax rate of $1.13 per $100 of assessed value, the current rate paid by Arlington residents.

Recorder/Treasurer Brittney Owens explained that staff cut an estimated $1.6 million to balance the budget.
