After many years of the former mayor and several other elected officials serving 20 years or longer in their positions, Bartlett is looking to implement term limits.
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Tuesday, Feb. 25, approved the first of three readings to amend the city’s charter, including the addition of term limits for mayor and aldermen positions.
The consideration of amending the charter is a rare discussion in Bartlett. The city’s last charter change was in 2007 dealing with animal-control laws, which are also under consideration for a change in the latest discussions.
