Eric Otten, who is charged with killing his estranged wife, now has a second count of first-degree murder.

The amended charges are in connection with the death of Mark Cross who died Nov. 17 from injuries received in the Sept. 9 shooting at the Meridian Park apartments. Otten’s wife, Jenni Otten, died at the time of the shooting.

The charges regarding Mark Cross’ death were amended Tuesday, Nov. 28, according to Inspector David Townsend.

Otten was arrested in Texas and waived extradition back to Collierville. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held on $1.5 million bond after his initial appearance on Sept. 14.

It is unclear if the amended charges will affect his bond amount as that will likely be determined by the town’s judge.
