Collierville reschedules meeting to decide fire chief’s fate

A special-called meeting of the Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen regarding the employment status of Fire Chief John Selberg was canceled Friday afternoon to give officials more time to resolve the matter.
The decision came only hours before the board was scheduled to discuss the fate of Selberg, who was placed on administrative leave with pay earlier this week by Town Administrator Molly Mehner. No date was set for the rescheduled meeting, but the move is “to allow both parties to reach a resolution,” according to an email from Jennifer Preston, the town’s public-information officer.
