Collierville considering e-bike education over regulations

Collierville is considering an educational approach rather than being more restrictive regarding e-bikes, although some rules are still planned.
The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen reviewed e-bike rules Monday night, moving the matter to a formal vote in October.
While there will still be some restrictions, the Collierville Police Department has developed a class so residents can learn how to operate the pedal-assisted bicycles responsibly. The program is primarily geared towards minors 12 to 17 years old and their parents. It will highlight the risks of e-bikes and safe tips for riding them in different areas of town.
