Germantown is exploring its options for waste-collection services, including the possibility of bringing that work under the city.
Any change wouldn’t take place until July 2026. The current contract with Waste Pro lasts through June 30, 2026. The suburb has contracted with the sanitation company for close to a decade. The annual cost to the city is about $4.3 million.
“Our contract was a pre-COVID contract,” said Andy Sanders, assistant city administrator. “As it has been with any business before and after COVID — the inflationary prices of doing business, labor force and other prices have greatly impacted the service industry.”
