By , Daily Memphian Published: February 02, 2025 4:00 AM CT

After more than three decades at Germantown Presbyterian Church, Jerold Teachey will conduct the choir one final time Sunday.

At age 84, Teachey is retiring after 60 years with experience beyond the church walls — not only in the region but across Tennessee.

“It’s very, very difficult for me to retire because I still love doing what I do,” he said.
