After the temporary closure of a beloved Germantown shop that has stood in Exeter Village for almost six decades, the business has never looked better.
Lana Knight along with her daughter Laura Beth Liddon and daughter-in-law Emily Knight have reopened The Gift Horse with a fresh new design. Three years ago, the trio purchased the business that opened in 1967.
The store originally was part of a franchise location of Shop of John Simmons, but when the previous owners wanted to make it their own, they struggled with a name. “The Gift House” didn’t seem to fit, so they tweaked it to “The Gift Horse” with a nod to Germantown’s equestrian heritage.
