Bodine School expansion halted by neighbors’ appeal

A pair of Germantown residents have appealed a Planning Commission recommendation for Bodine School to expand in the Dogwood Creek North neighborhood.
Residents Leslie and Rand Bouldin’s southern and eastern property lines border the school located at 2432 Yester Oaks Drive. The Bouldins support the work Bodine does, serving elementary students with dyslexia so they can transition to a traditional classroom, but disagree with the commission’s Sept. 1 decision.
They contend the Planning Commission violated Germantown’s zoning code by approving a conditional-use permit and endorsing the school’s plan to double its building size, creating room for 40 additional students and a capacity of 140.
