Lakeland officials are looking to enhance connectivity with a greenway on the northern side of the suburb while stoking redevelopment of the city’s southern end.

On Thursday, Oct. 3, the Lakeland Board of Commissioners approved an agreement with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the design of a new $1.3 million Scotts Creek Greenway project on city parkland south of U.S. 70.

The board also approved a $6 million tax-increment-financing loan for redevelopment near Intestate 40 and Canada Road.
