City of Lakeland enters 2nd TIF development agreement

Lakeland is rapidly becoming “The Land of TIF.”
With four Tax Increment Financing projects in various stages of development, the city and developers are using money generated from the process to help pay for expensive infrastructure.
On Thursday, Nov. 21, the Lakeland Industrial Development Board unanimously approved a development agreement with the suburb for the Safety TIF district at U.S. Highway 70 and Seed Tick Road.
