Puppy love: Lakeland city manager falls for new best friend

Lakeland City Manager Michael Walker went by himself to the city’s first Pupapalooza in the Park earlier this month to celebrate a new tradition.

He left with a new best friend.

“I was ready to greet families, thank volunteers and watch our residents and their dogs enjoy a beautiful Saturday,” he said about the adoption event at Zadie Kuehl Park on Saturday, Oct. 11. “I did not plan to come home with one.”
