Fresh Millington administration approves budget

Millington approved its $93 million budget earlier this month, the first under new mayor Larry Dagen and Frankie Dakin, the city manager.

To help fund the budget, the board approved an 8-cent property tax increase, bringing the rate to $1.20 per $100 of assessed value. Due to reappraisals, communities must adjust their tax rate to a certified rate. In Millington, that was nearly $1.12.
