Collierville superintendent welcomes students back from summer

It’s not Russell Dyer’s first day at Collierville Schools. That was years ago.

However, Thursday was his first time to welcome students back from summer break as the superintendent of the suburban district.

Although he celebrated a few first days of school when the district was in its infancy as John Aitken’s chief of staff, he spent the last eight years in East Tennessee. Collierville Schools is now embarking on its second decade. This go-around, Dyer is at the helm after he took the top position in March.
